Iº Encontro de Wargames, TCG’s e RPG de Ourinhos!

 

Salve Leitor!

 

Sem dúvida nenhuma um dos pontos altos de ter ido ao EIRPG (Puxa como eu falo dele por aqui. Tá na hora de um evento novo em terras brasilis) foi rever velhos amigos e finalmente conhecer pessoalmente uma galera que até então era só um nick e um avatar na tela do computador. Foi gente pacas e vai ser injusto citar uns e não outros por isso vou me ater aos dois figuras importantes para o post de hoje o André “Streem” e o Fábio “Fabin”.

 

A despeito da pouca idade de ambos os caras já são velhos conhecidos do fórum Warhammer Brasil. Não satisfeitos em ficar quietinhos em Ourinhos/SP com seus jogos semanais os caras, juntamente com os demais membros do SWG (Streem Wargames Clube) dos quais eu só me lembro mesmo do “Pai posso comprar uma caixa de miniaturas?”, resolveram dar uma agitada no cenário com um evento promissor.

 

Agora em novembro, nos dias 15 e 16, o SWC realiza na biblioteca municipal “Tristão de Athayde” em Ourinhos/SP o “Iº Encontro de Wargames, TCG’s e RPG de Ourinhos” (confira o link para conferir o poster do evento) com torneio de LoTR (Lord of The Rings), mostra de miniaturas, demonstrações de Warhammer 40.000 (conduzidas pelo Fábio) assim como torneios de Magic e mesas de RPG.

 

Em suma uma excelente pedida se você mora em Ourinhos mesmo (o que acho difícil já que se alguém de Ourinhos lê esse blog só pode ser o próprio Streem) ou no estado de São Paulo (uma Road trip no final de semana não mata ninguém) para um final de semana de confraternização e jogos com outros hobbystas.

 

Desde já meus parabéns ao André e o restante da galera do SWC pela iniciativa e os sinceros desejos de um grande sucesso no evento.

Wargaming event in Brazil!

Hello There!

 

Hobby related events down here in Brazil are few and usually really spaced in between so it’s not always that I have something to tell you guys out there about.

 

One would think that wouldn’t be the case with GW having set foot in Brazil a while ago but so far that hasn’t proven right as no events have been put forth by its local representative/distributor other than some small events showcasing the hobby. There have been no events aimed at the established community so far, but that was kind of expected (more on that on the future).

 

Well the community down here has thrived over the years solely on the efforts of fellow hobbyists and that’s what I have to report to you guys out there today.

 

If you happen to be in Brazil this month I believe it’ll be worth your time checking the “Iº Encontro de Wargames, TCG’s e RPG de Ourinhos” (First Wargaming, TCG and RPG encounter of Ourinhos) in Ourinhos/ São Paulo which will be held by a local club of hobbyists (The SWC – Streem Wargames Club) on the 15^th and 16^th of November.

 

The event will not only sport a LoTR tournament but also have Warhammer 40.000 demo tables and a miniature showcase showing models painted by the artist of a local painting studio. All in all great weekend activity if you ask me.

 

In case you’re tempted to attend Ourinhos is easily reachable from the capital city São Paulo (it’s a, roughly, 4 hour journey to cover the 370km which separate the two cities) by car or bus. Just leave me a comment if you need any help getting there.

Eu já havia adiantado no Warhammerbrasil mas caso você tenha perdido a deixa por lá trago hoje novas acerca do concurso de pintura online sendo conduzido pelo fórum porteño devotado aos jogos da GW: WargameZ.

 

Diretamente do fórum (em uma tradução livre):

 

Segundo concurso de pintura online WargameZ.

 

Categorias:

 

-          Melhor Personagem de Comando “HQ” (somente uma miniatura)

-          Melhor Unidade (entre 3 e 10 miniaturas)

-          Melhor Veículo / Criatura Monstruosa

 

Prêmios (Todos os prêmios são uma cortesia de HD comics & “Su Majestad Infernal”):

 

-          Para melhor HQ: Uma miniatura de um Inquisidor para o jogo Inquisitor.

-          Para melhor Unidade: Uma unidade de 6 miniaturas.

-          Para melhor veículo / criatura monstruosa: Um rhino da HD comics.

 

Como participar:

 

Cada usuário registrado no fórum pode apresentar uma única miniature em cada categoria. Para fazê-lo ele deve subir o máximo de três imagens de cada miniatura participante no tópico apropriado a ser criado oportunamente. Para receber seu prêmio você deve apresentar sua miniature (se você mora no interior alguma forma vai ser criada para validar sua miniature provando que você mesmo a pintou e que a mesma não é uma foto tirada da internet).

 

O concurso acontece entre os dias 29 de julho e 12 de agosto período no qual as fotos das miniaturas participantes devem ser postadas no tópico apropriado.

 

Após esse período será criada uma lista com os “top tem” em cada categoria (se necessário) e em seguida os membros do fórum votarão para escolher as melhores miniaturas em cada categoria.

 

Como dizia no WHB esta me parece uma grande oportunidade para os pintores brasileiros mostrarem seus trabalhos à comunidade argentina. Dada a proximidade são grandes as chances de num futuro próximo as comunidades se freqüentarem em eventos realizados pela GW – Argentina ou pela GW – Brasil. Quem viver verá.

Online painting contest!

 

Hello there!

 

I’ll be adressing my english reading visitors first today. If you check my old blog here you’ll see that I’ve made a habit of writing both in English and Portuguese whenever I updated the blog (ok not every single time but I did my best). Since migrating my efforts to the blog here at WordPress I decided to pay a little more attention to the brazilian gaming community in the form of gaming articles aimed at them in our native language: Portuguese. You see not everyone down here speaks English or understands it well enough to follow the rumors and news from websites and forums out there, so I took it upon me to translate a few of those to keep the community down here informed.

 

I’m still writing bilingual updates like today whenever I feel the subject might be of interest not only to the Brazilian community but also to the few foreign visitors I have here like the Warmachine review and the event report on the EIRPG.

 

Which brings us to today’s topic: A hot online painting competition being held by the Argentinean based web forum WargameZ.

 

From their forum (in a free translation):

Categories:

 

-          Best HQ character (1 model only)

-          Best Unit (between 3 and 10 models)

-          Best Vehicle / Monstrous Creature

 

Prizes (all prizes are a courtesy of HD comics & “Su Majestad Infernal”):

 

-          For best HQ character: An Inquisitor model for the Inquisitor game.

-          For best Unit: A Unit of 6 models.

-          For best Vehicle / Monstrous Creature: A Rhino from HD comics.

 

How to take part:

 

Each registered user from the forum might present a single miniature / entry per category. To do so he must upload up to three images of each miniature / entry in the appropriate topic which will be created soon. To receive your prize you must present your miniature (if you live in the country some sort of way will be arranged to prove it is indeed a model painted by you and not a photograph stolen from the internet)

 

The contest runs from the 29^th of July till the 12^th of August period in which the pictures of the entrants must be posted in the appropriate topic.

 

After that time a “top ten” list will be created for each category (if necessary) and then the members of the forum will be able to vote for the best painted models in each category.

 

If you feel inclined to participate or would like to know more please check the appropriate topic on their forum (bear in mind it’s in Spanish).
