Alpha Legion – Daemon Prince.

 

Hello there Reader.

Another year has gone by and, at least to me it seemed like 2012 was taking its time! Alas it’s now gone… farewell 2012, you won’t be missed here!

 

I’d like to begin this by wishing you guys a happy New Year. Believe me when I say this is sincere and from the bottom of my heart. I know there are probably troubled waters ahead for all of us but I TRULY wish you all a VERY HAPPY new year with good health and in which you can find the will to pursue your hopes and dreams, be they real life or hobby related ones.

 

I’ll try my best at that and that’s a New Year resolution I guess.

Some of you might be wondering what happened to the “A Tale of X Gamers” project here on the blog right? No it wasn’t aborted and it’s still going on (at least I’m told so by the friends who joined me in it) but I did have some computer related issues which took me a lot longer to sort out than I thought it would. I did get it back late in December and so I’m back to work in editing the texts for the project and translating them into English so I believe they’ll be back this weekend, but I must warn you guys I’m moving houses again at the end of the month so hold no grudge against me if I fall behind with them as I get settled in the new house.

 

Well, I did paint some stuff and my very first miniature this year is yet another miniature for my friend Valter (man, it seems I only paint for him nowadays). As it turns out Valter has also jumped in the Chaos Space Marine wagon and decided to build an Alpha Legion list. I got to see it in action against Marcelo’s Orks and must admit it was devastating, specially the Daemon Prince which was able to slay in a single round of close combat an entire unit of 10 Ork Nobz.

 

I thought that after such a brilliant performance it would be fitting to give the guy a proper paintjob, and so I did over the course of the last two days.

 

I really liked how it turned out, specially the “purplish” skin tone and the glow (which I’m trying to do for the second time here) coming from the chaos runes on the armor. Once again I’ll let you guys be the judges and tell me what you think of it.

E mais um ano passou! Já vai tarde 2012! Bom, não tenho como começar o primeiro post de 2013 sem primeiramente desejar à você que acompanha o blog um feliz Ano Novo, repleto de saúde e realizações, e miniaturas, claro! Acredite quando digo que esse desejo é sincero e do fundo do meu coração – FELIZ ANO NOVO! MESMO!!!

 

Tenho sido constantemente indagado sobre o projeto “Um Conto de X Jogadores / A Tale of X Gamers” já que no último mês não postei nenhuma atualização. Pra variar acabei tendo problemas com meu computador que só agora voltou pras minhas mãos e, embora fosse possível atualizar o blog através de outros meios, devo admitir que fico perdido sem meu fiel PC. Acredito que tudo deva voltar à normalidade por aqui embora já os deixe avisados que vou me mudar novamente no final do mês de janeiro o que pode implicar em alguns atrasos até que me estabeleça na nova casa e consiga religar os serviços de internet.

 

Pra começar 2013 resolvi pintar uma miniatura do Valter (outra?!). O cara acabou embarcando na onda dos Chaos Space Marines e decidiu montar um army de Alpha Legion. Dia desses assisti um jogo entre ele o Marcelo onde o Daemon Prince fez um estrago. Em um único turno o cramunhão obliterou da mesa uma unidade de Ork Nobz… acho que esse cara vai virar alvo prioritário fácil, fácil nas partidas por aqui.

 

Diante do desempenho em jogo achei que a miniatura merecia uma pintura. A peça foi pintada com um tom de pele arroxeado. A ideia original era deixar o roxo somente como sombra nas reentrâncias mais profundas dos músculos, mas, enquanto o pintava, curti esse tom de roxo e acabei optando em mantê-lo. Na armadura usei o esquema de cores da Alpha Legion com azul e highlight em verde e tentei pela segunda vez fazer um efeito de luminescência nessa peça, buscando emular o brilho esverdeado das runas do Chaos gravadas na armadura do Daemon Prince.

 

Acho que o resultado final ficou convincente e espero que o Valter goste quando o receber.
