Or, what I was able to do.
Yes, I wasn’t able to paint my unit this month and the excuses are always the same. Real life issues demanding more attention than normal, some task which needed to get done over the weekend or, simply put, being lazy.
What I did manage to do this month was to assemble, magnetize and convert the weapons for the Tyranid Warriors. This is an old kit so it doesn’t come with all the possible weapon options available in the Tyranid Codex, from echich I chose to kit them with close combat weapons, namely Lash Whips and Bonesword. I’ve magnetized only one of them as I’m only able to field one heavy weapon per squad.

And so I began magnetizing the miniature. I did need to purchase a new drill bit in order to be able to fit the bigger magnets (2,5 mm ones I think) which hold the weapons a lot firmer in place. The only thing to be careful about here is their polarization.

I had to convert the Lash Whips and the Boneswords. For the Boneswords I used the ones I got in the Hive Tyrant kit. I needed to reduce their size and place them on smaller arms and was quite happy with the final result.

The Lash Whips gave me a lot of work. I ran out of Greenstuff so I had to use a regular epoxy putty. I’m kinda hasty when it comes to converting things and don’t have the patience to wait the putty to dry, but this time I had to. I used Hormagaunt hands and Warrior arms, made some adaptations and filled when ready. I wasn’t able to include a lot of detail but was also happy with the final result.

After several attempts I managed to achieve a decent shape for the whips.

After the conversions were done I finished cleaning and assembling the other parts. I like to paint the parts separately as it makes the whole process a lot easier. Their paintjob will be left for the next month as I have to work on other projects I’m working on at the same time.

This month I managed to purchase a Carnifex and some Genestealers here n Brazil. I like to buy my kits on their sprues as I might have already mentioned I like to prepare, assemble and paint the pieces. The final tab was R$ 134.00 (one hundred and thirty four reais – around U$D 75,00).

Ou o que deu pra fazer.
Sim, eu não consegui pintar minha unidade esse mês, as desculpas são sempre as mesmas: Vida real exigindo mais do que o normal, alguma tarefa que precisou ser feita no fim de semana ou simplesmente preguiça.
O que eu fiz esse mês foi montar, magnetizar e converter as armas dos Tyranid Warriors. O kit é antigo, e não vem com todas as opções de armas que tem no Codex, onde a minha opção de armas de combate corporal foram Lash Whip e Boneswords. Magnetizei apenas um deles, pois só posso colocar uma heavy weapon por squad.

Então iniciei a magnetização. Precisei comprar uma broca um pouco maior pra poder adaptar os imãs maiores (2,5mm eu acho) que dão uma boa firmeza para as armas. Aqui o único cuidado é com a polarização deles.

Precisei converter os Lash Wips e as Boneswords. Para as Boneswords eu usei as que vieram no kit do Hive Tyrant. Precisei diminuir o tamanho delas e colocar em braços menores. Fiquei bastante feliz com o resultado final.
Inicio da conversão das armas de CC, eu uso uma serra pra conseguir um corte reto e mais preciso.
A espada estava grande demais em comparação ao torso.
Espada depois de convertida. Eu cortei com um bisturi e depois lixei até conseguir o formato desejado.
Conversão pronta. Mantive o mesmo padrão pras outras duas.
Os Lash Whips deram bastante trabalho. O Greenstuff acabou e precisei usar Durepóxi. Eu sou meio “ferida” pra converter coisas. Eu não tenho a paciência de esperar secar a massa. Mesmo assim precisei fazer. Usei mãos de Hormagaunts e os braços dos Warriors, fiz algumas adaptações e lixei assim que estava pronto. Não consegui colocar muitos detalhes, mas gostei do resultado final.

Depois de várias tentativas consegui um formato decente pros chicotes.

Depois das conversões prontas, terminei de limpar e montar as outras peças. Eu gosto de pintar eles desmontados, pois facilita bastante. A pintura deles vai ficar pro mês que vem, pois preciso tocar outros projetos que tenho em andamento.
Kit pronto pra receber o primer.
Esse mês consegui comprar um Carnifex e alguns Genestealers, aqui mesmo em terra brazilis, eu gosto de comprar os kits no sprue, como já devo ter falado, eu gosto de preparar, montar e pintar as peças! A conta deu R$134,00.
