A Tale of “X” Gamers – Orks 004.

Hello folks.

 

This is my fourth article from a series about “A Tale of X Gamers – ToXH” where I’ll build a 2000 point Ork army for the Warhammer 40K game.

 

On the previous article I presented my full army list and miniatures set. I’ve opted to purchase all the miniatures I’d need to build my army on the first months of the project, which will allow me to start playing games right from the start with my battle brothers.

 

Now all that’s left to do is painting.

 

This month I have finished painting my Warlord, Ghazghkull Thraka, Last month I had already assembled, primed and finished painting his face. Here’s how it was by the end of that month:

 

His head was painted separately, before gluing it to the rest of the body. I did that because it demands more attention to detail, After it was done I proceeded to glue it in place.

 

As his body is basically armor I painted it all with some metaclic paint with some brown added to it, followed by a basecoat on the armor parts I felt should have a reddish color.

 

I wanted to do some of the checkered patterns found in Ork miniatures but I didn’t feel confident enough to try my hand at it. It seem rather hard to me.

 

And here’s how it looked with the basic paintjob done.

 

As you can see I struggled a bit to do the horns so I decided to leave them as they were and ask master Gereth for some help with them. He painted the horns for me and I was able to follow it up close while playing a game against my friend Valter.

 

I believe I know how to paint them in future models now. Thanks for the help Gereth!

 

I got back home and on the next day wrapped up the details on the armor, washed it and finished the base.

Olá pessoal.

 

Este é meu quarto artigo da uma série sobre “A tale of X Gamers” – ToXG, onde vou construir um army Ork de 2.000 pontos no Warhammer 40K.

 

No mês anterior apresentei a lista e miniaturas do army completo. Optei por adquirir todo o army logo nos primeiros meses do projeto, o que vai me permitir jogar desde logo várias partidas com os battle brothers.

 

Agora é com a pintura.

 

Esse mês terminei de pintar o meu WarLord, Ghazghkull Thraaka. Mês passado havia montado, primado e pintado completamente o rosto dele. Veja como estava:

 

A cabeça foi pintada separadamente, antes de colar no restante do corpo. Isso porque ela exige maior complexidade nos detalhes. Depois de terminada completamente, aí sim coloquei-a no lugar.

 

Como basicamente o corpo todo dele é uma armadura, pintei tudo com uma tinta metálica misturada com marrom, para depois fazer o base coat das partes da armadura que achei que deveriam tem uma cor avermelhada.

 

Queria fazer os quadriculados comuns dos ORKS, mas não me senti seguro para pincelar isso. Me parece algo muito difícil.

 

Vejamos como ficou com a pintura básica:

 

Como vocês podem ver, apanhei muito para fazer os chifres e decidi parar a pintura por ai e pedir ajudar ao mestre Gereth nesse ponto. Ele pintou os chifres e acompanhei a pintura de perto, enquanto jogava uma partida com o amigo Valter. =D

Voltei pra casa e no dia seguinte terminei os detalhes da armadura, wash e finalizei a base.
