Real life has been charging its price lately, leaving me very little free time to keep building my army, but I managed to organize myself a schedule and paint one more unit: another tactical squad.
Something I noticed, that indeed happens, is that as you gain more and more practice, not only with painting, but also your color scheme, you will begin to paint faster. The ideal sequence and places to paint first comes naturally after a while.
In an earlier article I wrote about about showing how to draw freehand designs on your miniatures. Below I describe a simple sequence that serves as a guide to almost anything you want do draw on a miniature. And it doesn´t need to be anything complex, it can be as simple as an arrow for a tactical squad or a written number for squad marking, or more elaborate designs. I´m not an expert about this, but here I share the recipe that serves me well enough.
Begin drawing with a mechanical pencil (I use a 0.5) over the done base painting. Don´t sweat it as it won´t remove de paint, all you need is to apply the right pressure. I use a mechanical pencil because the line width is constant, and being very thin, I can also see better the drawing being done.
After that I apply a base color. In this case, a light tone of grey, that will serve as base for white. This way you can cover the pencil trace with a minimum of paint. When this was done, I applied the white, diluted to almost a glaze (but not a wash). If you apply at a 90 degrees angle, the paint used for the base color stops this white paint from sliding. When necessary, 2 layers were applied, but since the base color is a light grey, in almost all shoulder pads I needed only one.
After dry, I finished the drawing with black. It is very important to begin first with the light colors, and not being afraid of making mistakes, because in a further step, the darker color will cover them. After it is finished, all you need to do is to correct any mistakes with the original color the drawing is covering.

Back to the Tactical Squad, I included in this unit a heavy bolter and a plasma gun, with some light effect (OSL), done only with drybrushes. Simple and nice. The heavy bolter I got from the Devastator box I bought in the first month, at the beginning of this series, when I also bought the tactical box I used. So, this month´s cost was zero! The advantage of availing of a good price when opportunity appears.
Tactical Squad Dorien is usually chosen for holding strategic positions against enemy infantry and light transport vehicles. Sgt. Dorien also holds a power sword to eliminate any foes that manage to get close enough, only to be slaughtered.

Olá pessoal!
A vida real tem cobrado seu preço ultimamente, deixando pouco tempo livre para continuar a construção do exército, mas consegui me programar e pintar mais uma unidade: mais um tático.
Algo que reparei, e que de fato acontece, é que conforme vai se pegando mais e mais prática, não só com a pintura, mas com seu esquema de cor, você pinta cada vez mais rápido. A sequência ideal das cores e locais onde pintar primeiro vem naturalmente.
Comentei em um artigo anterior sobre mostrar como fazer desenhos (os Freehands) em suas miniaturas. Abaixo segue uma pequena sequência simples que serve de guia para praticamente qualquer coisa que se queira desenhar à mão livre em uma miniatura. E não precisa ser nada complexo, pode ser desde coisas simples como uma seta para representar um tático ou um número escrito designando um esquadrão até desenhos mais elaborados. Não sou nenhum expert nisso, mas compartilho a receita que tem me servido muito bem.
Comece desenhando com uma lapiseira fina (eu uso uma 0.5) por cima da pintura pronta. Não se acanhe, não vai arrancar a tinta, tudo o que você precisa fazer é aplicar a pressão certa. Uso uma lapiseira porque a espessura do traço é constante, e sendo bem fina, consigo enxergar melhor o desenho sendo feito.
Depois aplico uma cor base. Nesse caso um tom de cinza, que servirá de base para o branco. Digo isso porque desta maneira você consegue cobrir o traço com um mínimo de tinta. Feito isso, apliquei o branco diluído, quase um glaze (que não chega a ser um wash). Aplicando com o pincel reto a 90 graus, a tinta que usei na cor base impede o branco de escorrer. Quando necessário apliquei 2 camadas, mas como a cor base é um cinza bem claro, em quase todas as ombreiras só precisei de uma.
Depois de seco, terminei o desenho com o preto. Importante começar pelas cores claras, e não ter medo de errar, já que num passo adiante, você vai aplicar uma cor mais escura por cima, que acaba corrigindo. Depois de terminado, é só corrigir os deslizes com a cor original que o desenho está cobrindo.

Voltando ao tático, nessa unidade incluí um heavy bolter e uma plasma gun, com um pequeno efeito de iluminação, feito somente com drybrushes. Simples e bonito! O heavy bolter veio da caixa de Devastators que comprei no primeiro mês, no início dessa série, assim como a caixa de tático utilizada. Portanto, o custo desse mês foi zero! A vantagem de se aproveitar um bom preço quando aparece a oportunidade.
O esquadrão Dorien geralmente é escolhido para segurar posições estratégicas contra infantaria inimiga e veículos leves de transporte. O sargento Dorien também se apoia em uma espada de poder para eliminar eventuais oponentes que consigam se aproximar o suficiente, apenas para serem massacrados.
