Blood Angels Vs Black Templars – Battle report.

Hello there Reader.

 

I went home to spend the weekend a couple of weeks ago and invited a few friends over to share a few beers and roll some dice. I still haven’t gotten around to understanding how the new Eldar Codex works (and to be honest I don’t know where it is), so I just sat down to watch two Space Marine armies blowing each other to smithereens as Valter’s Black Templars tackled Ton’s Blood Angels.

 

I should say that watching their game unfold was a very good reminder of how Wargames are meant to be played: On a table with beautiful terrain and painted armies!

The mission rolled was “The Relic” from the 40K book, a mission in which the armies fight over the possession of a relic left behind on the battlefield. As we were drinking and chatting I didn’t take photographs of everything happening on every turn but I believe the pictures here tell a lot about Ton’s hard earned victory and about how great their armies look.

The Blood Angels stormed the Outpost in order to capture the relic and were surprised by the arrival of a Drop Pod from the Black Templars.

 

The second wave of Blood Angels reinforcements ready to enter the fort.

 

The Rhino transport advanced after leaving the Blood Angels by the gates. The Black Templar Land Raider got stuck on battlefield debris leaving the Terminators within stranded.

 

The Blood Angel Land Speeder raced on the flank and ambushed the Black Templar Rhino. It would fire on it without success for a couple of turns.

 

Upon its arrival the Storm Raven tried to insert more troops within the outpost to reinforce the Blood Angels within.

 

The carnage is about to ensue.

 

The Furioso scattered outside the outpost while the Death Company perished trying to deploy from the flyer.

 

Abandoning their immobilized transport the Black Templar’s Terminators legged the last bit and charged the Furioso Dreadnought.

 

Battle is joined in earnest and the Temrinators would quickly regret their decision. The combat went on for a couple of turn and ended with the single remaining Terminator walking away from it. He joined his brothers soon enough as he perished in a volley of fire as he tried to charge the Blood Angels in the outpost.

 

The Blood Angels charged into the Black Templars with two assault units.

 

The Blood Angels press their advantage in numbers, even after losing a few of their brethen to overwatch fire. The much needed Black Templar reinforcements, in the form of the Terminator unit, were delayed in combat with the Furioso.

 

After ferocious rounds of combat the few remaining Blood Angels dispatched what was left of the Black Templars.

 

After the combat was done, and with the relic in their possesion, the Blood Angels and their Captain sought the refuge of the cover offered by the abandoned tanks. From this position they’d gun down with overwatch fire the single remaining Black Templar Terminator.

 

In a last attempt to recover the relic the Black Templars in the second Rhino storm the outpost’s barricades but it was already too late. The Blood Angels has been spirited away with the prize held firmly in their grasp.

Salve Leitor!

 

Estive em casa a alguns finais de semana e convidei os amigos para tomar ums cervejas e rolar uns dados. Como eu ainda não me entendi com o novo Codex Eldar (e pra falar a verdade não sei por onde ele anda) acabei assistindo a uma partida bem legal do Valter com seus Black Templars contra os Blood Angels do Everton “Ton”.

 

Ver a partida dos dois foi uma forma de relembrar uma vez mais como os jogos de estratégia (Wargames) ficam mais interessantes com bons cenários e exércitos pintados.

 

A missão rolada dessa vê foi a “The Relic” onde ambos os exércitos disputam a posse de uma relíquia esquecida no campo de batalha. Acabei não registrando o turno a turno da partida mas as fotos fazem um relato contundente da vitória bravamente conquistada pelo Ton e da beleza dos armies em campo. Fiquem com as fotos:

O Rhino após o desembarque dos Blood Angels. O Land Raider dos Black Templars ficou preso em destroços do campo de batalha obrigando os Terminators a caminharem um bocado.

 

O Land Speeder dos Blood Angels atacando o flanco dos Black Templars e tentando destruir o Rhino ao longo de alguns turnos.

 

O Storm Raven dos Blood Angels tentando inserir mais tropas com precisão cirurgica dentro do forte.

 

A carnificina prestes a começar.

 

O Furioso acabou caindo fora do forte, enquanto a tropa de death company embarcada morreu tentando pular do flyer em movimento.

 

Abandonando o transporte imobilizado os Terminators Black Templars avançam e cargam o Dreadnought Furioso.

 

A porrada comeu franca entre o Dreadnought e os terminators, terminando com um único sobrevivente da únidade saindo do combate. Ele seria abatido logo em seguida ao tentar cargar a unidade de Blood Angels dentro do forte.

 

Os Blood Angels cargaram a unidade de Black Templars com duas unidades de assalto.

 

Mesmo tendo perdido alguns soldados para o fogo dos Black Templars os Blood Angels ainda tinham superioridade numérica no combate. Os reforços da unidade de Terminators dos Black Templars encontrava-se presa em combate com o Dreadnought Furioso.

 

Depois de alguns rounds de combate ferrenho os remanescentes dos Blood Angels liquidaram os Black Templars.

 

Liderados por seu Capitão e com a relíquia em seu poder os Blood Angels sobreviventes buscam a segurança da cobertura dos tanques abandonados. Dessa posição eles abateriam o último Terminator sobrevivente dos Black Templars com o fogo de “overwatch”.

 

Em uma última tentativa desesperada de recuperar o prêmio os Black Templars embarcados no segundo Rhino atacaram as barricadas do forte mas já era tarde demais. Os Blood Angels foram resgatados pela Storm Raven e partiram com a relíquia segura em seu poder.
