A Tale of “X” Gamers – Tyranids 010.

 

 

Hello.

 

We’re getting to the end of our participation on the “A tale of X Gamers” project here on the “The Painting Frog” blog. This time I decided to paint a bunch of miniatures at the same time as their color scheme is the same.

 

I’ve initially painted the Deathleaper and the Zoanthropes along with the Tervigon. After a while I painted the two Carnifexes and added the five Genestealers to the production line.

The technique I’ve used to paint them is still the same, I begin by painting the flesh tone, the green and the red using an airbrush. After that I apply a few washes in the areas I believe should look darker, and wrap it all up by adding the details with a paintbrush.

 

My idea is to field a brood of three Carnifexes, all of them armed with a Stranglethorn Cannon. This weapon option costs 15 points for a 36” S6 Ap 5, large blast and pinning. My goal is to field as many pinning causing weapons in order to cover the advance of my troops and to thwart the enemy’s shooting phase, while at the same time having a powerful melee unit.

I’ve modified my list in order to field another Genestealer squad lead by a Broodlord, thus having another unit to run disruption.

 

The Broodlord has a psychic power, Terrify, which forces the opponent to make a pinning test with a negative modifier of -2 to the Leadership value. This power helps the rest of my army to draw closer to enemy lines and do what they do best, which is beating the enemy up close and personal. Their capacity to infiltrate helps using this power on the first turn, making them a serious threat in the early turns of the game.

The Broodlord is also powerful in the close combat phase, being able to challenge Space Marine Captains and Ork Nobs and easily beating them, as they have a high initiative and the Rending rule. I only have to make sure he gets into combat and messes with the enemy lines until the rest of the units arrive.

Estamos chegando na reta final do projeto AToXG. Dessa vez aproveitei pra pintar várias miniaturas ao mesmo tempo, já que o esquema de cores é o mesmo.

 

Inicialmente pintei o Deathleaper e os Zoanthropes junto com o Tervigon. Depois de um tempo pintei os dois Carnifexes e coloquei os cinco Genestealers na linha de produção.

A técnica utilizada é a mesma, faço a cor da pele, o verde e o vermelho no aerógrafo, aplico alguns washes nas áreas que acho que devem ficar mais escuras, e depois pinto os detalhes com o pincel.

 

A minha idéia é colocar um brood com 3 Carnifexes, todos armados com o Stranglethorn Cannon. Essa arma custa 15 pontos, 36” S6 ap5, large blast e causa pinning. Eu quero colocar o máximo de armas que causam pinning para cobrir o avanço das tropas e dificultar o shooting phase do adversário, além de ter uma unidade poderosa no CC.

Modifiquei a lista para colocar mais um squad de Genestealers liderados por um Broodlord, tendo então, mais uma unidade de disrupção.

 

O Broodlord tem um poder psíquico, Terrify, que força o oponente a fazer um pinning test com um modificador de -2 para o atributo de liderança. Esse poder ajuda o resto do meu exército a se aproximar do inimigo e fazer o que eles sabem fazer melhor, que é dar porrada de perto e pessoalmente. A capacidade de eles infiltrarem ajuda a usar esse poder no primeiro turno, e tornam uma ameaça séria durante os turnos iniciais.

O Broodlord também é poderoso na fase de CC, podendo desafiar capitães Space Marine e Ork Nobs e derrotá-los com facilidade, pois contam com iniciativa alta e Rending. Então é torcer que ele chegue em combate e bagunce as linhas inimigas, até a chegada do resto das unidades.
