Finally, we get to the last article in this series! I admit I am a little late, but that’s not without reason. My studies, mostly, demanded a great share of my time and I couldn’t leave this aside. When the texts and seminars were done, I could get back to the hobby.
The last unit added to the army is another Tactical Squad, with a lascannon and a graviton gun as special weapons, and with a plasma pistol for the sergeant. The unit was build around the marines from the Assault on Black Reach boxed set, with the lascannon being a leftover from the Devastators box and the graviton gun a bit purchased in separate, as were the parts I needed for the rest of the unit, such as the legs.
I used the bits leftover from the previous boxes and assembled a MK V Corvus Pattern armour, to whom the graviton gun was given. A simple kit bash with a small conversion in one of the shoulder pads, where the trim was removed, since this type of armour doesn’t use shoulder pads with trims. The sergeant was also heavily built with bits from different sources, in a way to get a distinct model with a cool visual appeal.

This month’s cost was low. The marines from the Assault on Black Reach can be bought for very little. Mine cost around US$6, with another US$4 for the extra bits I still didn’t have. About US$10 total, not bad at all!

Now I have a new space marine army, that will join the others I have already finished. It is a great personal satisfaction to finish assembling and painting a whole army, even with the inevitable setbacks that will appear. The important thing is not to give up and keep on working.
It’s been almost two years since I offered myself to participate in this project. In this period, a new Codex was released, and more recently, a new edition for Warhammer 40.000 (7th). It is important to note that it took this long because of factors like my personal commitment to build only one unit per month, busy personal life with study, work and family, setbacks (like the robbery in my apartment in the beginning of this project), the level of detail I demand from myself when painting, and also that this army wasn’t my only personal project, for I also have an Ork army and do commissioned work.
The important thing is to realize that is possible to build an army even in a busy life. You can finish a similar project a lot faster; it all depends mostly from your disposition and time. As many friends like to affirm, to play with and/or against a fully painted army gives you a completely different and far more pleasant immersion to the game.
And with the new edition and the opening of the army lists with the Unbound, many possibilities arise. My own perspectives now is to focus and try to finish the second company (more for hobby than for gaming) and to get something to use as a Lord of War.

Olá pessoal!
Finalmente, chegamos ao último artigo dessa série! Admito que esteja atrasado, mas não sem motivo. Meus estudos, principalmente, exigiram uma fatia enorme do meu tempo e eu não podia deixar isso de lado. Terminadas as provas e seminários, pude voltar ao hobby.
A última unidade é mais um esquadrão tático, com lascannon e graviton gun como armas especiais, e com o sargento com uma pistola de plasma. A unidade foi construída principalmente em torno dos marines da caixa Assault on Black Reach, com o lascannon sendo uma sobra da caixa de Devastators e a graviton gun um bit adquirido à parte, assim como as partes necessárias para o resto, como pernas.
Aproveitei os bits restantes das caixas anteriores e montei uma armadura Corvus Pattern MK V, e para esse foi dada a graviton gun. Um kit bash simples com uma pequena conversão em uma das ombreiras, onde o anel que a envolve foi raspado, já que esse tipo de armadura não usa ombreiras com anel. O sargento também foi pesadamente construído com bits de caixas diferentes, de modo que ficasse um modelo bastante distinto e de apelo visual legal.

O custo desse mês foi baixo. Os marines do Assault on Black Reach podem ser comprados por preços bem baixos. Os meus custaram R$15, mais uns R$10 pelos bits que eu ainda não tinha. R$25 no total, nada mal mesmo!

Agora tenho um novo exército de marines, que se juntarão aos que já possuo terminados. É uma grande satisfação pessoal terminar de montar e pintar um exército inteiro, mesmo com contratempos que eventualmente aparecerão. O importante é não desistir e continuar o trabalho.
Fazem quase 2 anos desde que me ofereci para participar deste projeto. Neste período, um novo Codex foi lançado, e mais recentemente, uma nova edição do Warhammer 40000 (a 7ª). É importante notar que esse longo tempo para se terminar se deveu a fatores como o meu comprometimento pessoal de fazer apenas uma unidade por mês, vida pessoal ocupada com estudos, trabalho e família, imprevistos (como o furto ao meu apartamento no início do projeto), ao nível de detalhe que me imponho na hora de pintar, e que esse exército não era o meu único projeto pessoal, pois eu também tenho um exército de orks e faço trabalhos comissionados.
O importante é perceber que é possível sim construir um exército com uma vida ocupada. Você pode terminar um projeto similar muito mais rapidamente, tudo depende principalmente da sua disposição e tempo. Como muitos amigos gostam de afirmar, jogar com e/ou contra um exército totalmente pintado dá uma imersão diferente e muito mais agradável ao jogo.
E com a nova edição e a abertura das listas com o Unbound, muitas possibilidades se abrem. Minhas perspectivas pessoais irão agora focar em terminar a 2ª companhia (mais por hobby do que pelo jogo em si) e adquirir algo para usar como Lords of War.
Por fim, agradeço ao Estevão (Gereth) deste blog por oferecer a oportunidade de mostrar a construção de um exército e por fazer parte desta série, que foi um bom desafio. Fiquem agora com algumas fotos do exército inteiro reunido, pronto para enfrentar os inimigos do Império da Humanidade!
