Hello Reader.

According to the bets being placed this article should see the light of day sometime around 2017, but in order to contradict the naysayers I’m publishing it today, little over a month after the Rumble in the Jungle was held. I do like to contradict prognostics.

Segundo as apostas este artigo só deveria ficar pronto em 2017, mas só pra contrariar estou publicando ele ainda em 2015. Eu gosto de afrontar os prognósticos!

Hello Reader.

Well, it seems that in light of all the recent articles published here, the word on the street is that I don’t paint miniatures.

With this blog being called “The Painting Frog” there has indeed been a shortage of painting related articles, something I’ll try to remedy today.

One of the things I have been trying whenever I sit down to paint is to step out of my comfort zone, and lately that has meant experimenting with the airbrush. I’ve owned one for a while now and used it with some degree of success in the past to paint a small force of Ultramarines and also on the first of the Saim-Hann Eldar I’ve painted.

How’s everything folks? Montagna here again to share what has been going on. THis month I won’t fullfil my promise as I decided to write a little bit about where to purchase GW miniatures.

For those of you unaware of it, in the last few years we have had some trouble in purchasing miniatures for our armies given GW’s new trade policy which forbid major British resellers from selling their miniatures outside the European Union.

If you search here on the Painting Frog you will find the very opportune writings of brother Estevao about it at that time. But that’s in the past so let’s focus on today.

Unfortunately there isn’t an official distributor for GW products in Brazil, no matter what some think: There ISN’T. For years we depended on the occasional importer but the fact is that hobbyists are the ones who do most sales and incentive to the hobby in Brazil, through the online forums. I’ll cite Warhammer Brasil and Clube BoS here as those are the ones I visit most regularly and also where, with a little cara and checking the reputation of the sellers, it is possible to find good deals, avoid problems and save some time.

Hello everyone.

Most from Brazil will know me from the Warhammer Brasil forum as Sirron, but people normally call me Caio.

I’m 27 years old and I’m a geological engineer living in the city of Contagem, Minas Gerais, in Brazil. I got into the hobby around 2004 when I watched one of those curiosities television shows showcasing Warhammer, but I didn’t make a coection until a few months ago as I watched another tv show, this time on computer games, showcasing a strategy game with impressive graphics which hooked me on the spot. You can probably tell that was “Dawn of War” and it didn’t take me many google searches to find out the miniature game behind it.

I soon began searching an found the Warhammer Brasil forum finding out there were 40K players in Minas Gerais! At first the biggest obstacle was the financial one and also finding a way to buy the miniatures, but that’s an altogether different story.
