E chegou a hora de publicarmos um novo battle report, um relato de batalha, aqui no blog. Recentemente publicamos nosso primeiro battle report em vídeo aqui no blog, mas desta vez retomo o formato narrativo normalmente empregado em meus artigos por aqui, contudo, se você não assistiu ao vídeo em questão peço a gentileza de conferir o artigo original e depois me dizer qual formato achou mais interessante. Agradeço desde já!

 

A batalha de hoje é uma continuação da narrativa que estamos tecendo ligando as partidas disputadas em Cuiabá, costurando nossos jogos em uma estória maior e, quem sabe, em breve em uma campanha narrativa. Nossa estória começou com o conflito entre os Black Templars e os Blood Angels pela posse de um artefato misterioso que acabou sendo levado pelos Blood Angels. Receosos em serem culpados pela perda da relíquia os Black Templars decidem apagar todos os traços de sua derrota, extirpando da existência toda a população de um planeta, começando pela Guarda Imperial no conflito mostrado em  Black Templars Vs Imperial Guard , agora conhecido como o “Massacre de Thraxx”. Após essa batalha houve um novo conflito fratricida onde após um ataque sorrateiro aos Space Marines do capítulo dos Salamanders os Black Templars tentam eliminar os sobreviventes, sendo surpreendidos pela intervenção da Legion of the Damned (conflito mostrado no  Black Templars Vs The Legion of the Damned) o que assegurou que noticias dos ataques Templários chegassem até o Império através dos Salamanders sobreviventes.

And it’s time for another battle report here on the blog. We’ve recently published our first battle report in video here on the blog, but this time I’m getting back to the narrative style of reporting on games I normally use here, however, if you haven’t checked our video, please do check it our today and let me know which kind you prefer.

 

Today’s battle is another sequel to the battles I’ve been playing with my friends and trying to sew into a larger narrative campaign soon. It all began with the Black Templars Vs Blood Angels conflict that saw the Blood Angels stealing some sort of relic from the grasp of the Templars, and followed by the battle featuring the Black Templars Vs Imperial Guard , now known as the “Massacre of Thraxx where the Templars started their mad crusade to expunge their failure in securing the relic. There was a 3rd conflict featuring the Black Templars Vs The Legion of the Damned where the Black Templars continued their mad attempt to silence an entire planet, but word of their doing got out with the surviving Salamanders that escaped their wrath.

Black Templars Vs The Legion of the Damned – Battle Report.

We have another battle report today that continues the narrative from the battle reports posted recently here on the blog. The first of them featuring Black Templars Vs Blood Angels started this narrative being a “prequel” of sorts and the second one featuring the Black Templars Vs Imperial Guard continued that story.

 

This time around I played against Valter’s Black Templars using a unit from my Salamanders army and the Legion of the Damned a friend painted for me a while ago. We didn’t play an specific game mission, the idea being just having a bit of fun seeing toy soldiers killing each other and rolling some dice. Objectives were pretty straightforward, the Templars had to kill the Salamanders and the Salamanders only had to be alive at the end of the game.

 

So without further ado here it is.

Black Templars Vs Imperial Guard – Battle report.

 

Hello there Reader!

 

Today’s Battle report is a sequel of sorts to the battle report showcasing the armies of two of my friends (Valter’s Black Templars against Ton’s Blood Angels) I posted here on the blog a while ago. If you missed that report, please check it out.

 

This time around Valter’s Black Templars fight Hugo’s Imperial Guard in a no holds barred game. Without further ado, let’s get on with the report.

I went home to spend the weekend a couple of weeks ago and invited a few friends over to share a few beers and roll some dice. I still haven’t gotten around to understanding how the new Eldar Codex works (and to be honest I don’t know where it is), so I just sat down to watch two Space Marine armies blowing each other to smithereens as Valter’s Black Templars tackled Ton’s Blood Angels.

 

I should say that watching their game unfold was a very good reminder of how Wargames are meant to be played: On a table with beautiful terrain and painted armies!

Templar Raiders!

Last time I posted here I brought you WIP photos of the two tanks I was working on for my good friend Valter’s Black Templars.

I probably have already mentioned I have been working on this army of his over the course of last year and after I had finished his first batch of models he approached me asking to have a few more models done. This second batch comprised a pair of Land Raiders, a pair of Land Speeders, a unit of Assault Marines and a unit of Space Marine Terminators.

I have been dying to work on some of my stuff for a while now, as well as some other stuff I’m working on as content for the blog, so I didn’t feel like working on more of his stuff. He’s studying to become a lawyer so it’ll suffice to say he made a pretty strong case about me having to paint these extra models for him (promises of hard cash probably helped as well).

I started working on these models in January and completed the Speeders and Assault Squad as part of the army list I used in a tournament at the end of that month. I then dug in and started working on what was left and I am happy to report I have finally completed the work on his Black Templars.

I’ll try to take pictures of the entire army over next weekend but today I share with you “Fire Rose” and “Blood Orchid” his two Land Raiders:

 

Sorry about the quantity of pictures, I just wanted to show everything. So what do you think about them? Drop me a line if you have any critics or comments about these guys.

Na última atualização eu postei fotos do trabalho em progresso (WIP) nos tanques em que estava trabalhando para o army de Black Templars do Valter.

Eu já mencionei por aqui estar trabalhando nesse exército para o Valter há algum tempo (pode ser até que você tenha acompanhado meu trabalho no army através dos posts no fórum Warhammer Brasil) e quando completei o primeiro set de peças para o army ele me perguntou se eu não pintaria mais algumas peças pra completar o set. Bom, naquela altura eu já estava mega cansado de pintar esses caras, mas, como o Valter estuda pra ser advogado, ele acabou me convencendo a encarar mais algumas miniaturas (claro que a grana que ele me prometeu ajudou bastante): Dois Land Raiders, dois Land Speeders, um Assault Squad e um Terminator Squad.

Eu adiantei metade dessas peças ao longo de janeiro, pois acabei usando os Speeders e o Esquadrão de Assalto no Torneio de Verão realizado pelo CGW no final daquele mês. Assim quando voltei pra casa resolvi encarar o restante dos Templários e liberar a minha “fila de pintura” pra que eu pudesse me dedicar a outros projetos aqui do blog.

Sendo assim, estou “felizasso” hoje por ter terminado esses lunáticos espaciais de uma vez (vou tentar tirar fotos no final de semana de todo o exército e fazer um showcase definitivo desse army aqui no blog) e apresento pra vocês o “Fire Rose” e o “Blood Orchid” (vide fotos acima).

“Por que tanta flor nesse army?” Alguém pode se perguntar. Bom, no primeiro Land Raider que pintei pra esse army, um Crusader, eu experimentei pintar alguns lírios no freehand que fiz naquele tanque. Quando o Valter pediu pra que eu fizesse os outros dois tanques, não sei se de sacanagem, ele pediu que eu colocasse flores neles também.

Por hoje é só pessoal.

WIP – Black Templar Land Raiders.

One thing I don’t do very often on the blog is posting WIPs. It’s not that I don’t like doing so, but mainly because whenever I’m working on something I don’t seem to recall getting the camera out and snapping some shots of what I’m working on.

 

Today I got to break that bad habit as I was asked to take some pictures of the stuff I was working on. You see, I haven’t been able to spare cash on models as of late. The infamous GW embargo has made it a lot more difficult for us in Brazil to purchase miniatures and also increased the cost at which we’re able to do so. To add insult to injury I haven’t had much in the way of disposable income so, in order to cover my hobby urges I decided to do some commission work for a friend.

 

I started working on Valter’s Black Templars sometime last year and finished his first commissioned pieces by the end of the same year. I intended to start working on some of my own stuff this year but he approached me again wanting some more done. I really couldn’t turn down the extra cash so I agreed to do more work on his Black Templars.

 

Two of the models he wanted done on this latest batch were a pair of Land Raiders, one of them a Redeemer and the other one a Terminus that was supposed to perform a secondary role as a regular Land Raider.

 

I started working on them earlier this week and did the necessary conversion work on the Terminus as I assembled it. I also assembled the Redeemer and primed them both for painting.

 

One thing I can’t wrap my mind around after assembling the Terminus is how poorly thought out this thing looks. Seriously, this is a tank supposed to take down titans with a single volley, but how is it supposed to so when it’s lascannon sponsons stand in front of each other. This is one terrible STC if you ask me Martian technicians.

 

I also don’t know what happened with Land Raider kits as of late. I must have assemble around 6 or 7 of them since I got into the hobby and never had any issues with them until this all plastic variant came out. On both of them I had trouble with the bit from the top which covers the tracks leaving huge gaps which I had to fill with greenstuff.

They still look alright after being primed and I started painting the Redeemer… I named it “Fiery Rose”.

Uma coisa que não costumo fazer aqui no blog é postar fotos de trabalhos em progresso (WIPs ou Work In Progress). Não porque eu não goste de fazê-lo, mas sim porque frequentemente quando estou pintando fico tão absorto na atividade que acabo me esquecendo de sacar a câmera e tirar algumas fotos pra compartilhar por aqui.

 

Hoje eu estou quebrando a escrita já que me pediram pra colocar fotos aqui dos modelos em que estou trabalhando. Se você acompanha o blog Warhammer Brasil pode já ter visto por lá fotos dos Black Templars que pintei para o Valter ao longo de 2011. Como a grana das miniaturas continua curta acabei aceitando pintar mais algumas miniaturas para o army dele e entre elas estão dois Land Raiders, um deles um Redeemer e o outro um Terminus que deveria ser convertido para que também pudesse ser usado em jogo como um Land Raider comum. Como ele queria ver fotos do trabalho de conversão feito no Land Raider Terminus pensei que seria uma boa oportunidade de compartilhar com vocês fotos do trabalho.

 

Como as fotos ilustram o artigo mostram eu magnetizei o Terminus de sorte que os sponsons frontais possam ser substituídos por portas comuns permitindo assim que o mesmo seja empregado como um Land Raider comum. Uma coisa que me deixou bastante frustrado com o Terminus em particular é o fato de que o tanque em si foi bem mal pensado. Embora seja uma conversão simples que demanda tão somente um kit original do Land Raider e mais dois sprues de outros kits (o sprue de armas laterais do Predator e o sprue da torreta do Razorback) o resultado final não me parece satisfatório já que os sponsons dianteiros acabam ficando na frente, e atrapalhando, dos sponsons com twin linked lascannons que ficam na traseira do tanque.

 

Outra coisa que me deixou meio chateado nesses kits é que a montagem da parte superior do tanque não ficou como de costume. Por algum motivo a parte superior do tanque não encaixou perfeitamente deixando um vão que teve de ser preenchido com greenstuff.

 

No fim das contas acabou dando um pouco mais de trabalho, mas depois do primer os tanques parecem ter ficado legais. Como vocês podem ver comecei a pintura do Redeemer pelo freehand… Batizei o tanque de “Fiery Rose”, Rosa Flamejante em português.

Land Raider furtado!!!

Nem sempre temos boas novas pra relatar por aqui e a de hoje é uma “má nova”.

Pra quem não conhece o Luciano “Paintmaker” é um dos membros da comunidade devotada aos jogos de miniaturas no Brasil, mais especificamente no Rio de Janeiro onde ele faz parte do clube “Martelo de Guerra”.

Além de jogador o Luciano pinta miniaturas comercialmente e está pedindo a ajuda da comunidade para encontrar um de seus trabalhos furtado recentemente no RJ.

O trabalho em questão é um Land Raider Crusader intitulado “Ares”, furtado na loja Sempre Música (Rua Correa Dutra n. 99, 2º. Andar – Rio de Janeiro/RJ) onde o clube se reúne para partidas.

Aparentemente alguém teria se aproveitado de um show realizado no espaço para apropriar-se do modelo em questão.

O Luciano pede a todo mundo que conhece o trabalho em questão (e eu estendo o pedido a vocês leitores) para manterem um olho aberto para leilões do ebay ou do mercado livre pra ver se o tanque aparece por lá. O mesmo vale se alguém ver o tanque sendo vendido em algum salão ou loja de modelismo. As fotos do veículo ilustram o post.

Vamos dar uma mão.

*UPDATE: Esse post é um dos que mais recebe visitas aqui no blog e por um lapso (pra não dizer claramente uma falha) acabei não atualizando o post dizendo que o Land Raider “Ares” foi encontrado. Ele foi misteriosamente devolvido na portaria do prédio em que mora o Luciano.

It’s not often that we have bad news to report here but I have to do so today. A beautifully painted Land Raider Crusader has been stolen from a music shop where a local gaming club in Rio de Janeiro gathers to play and the artist who painted it is asking for help in locating it.

I’m seconding his request asking you, the reader, to keep your eyes pealed for ebay auctions which might come up selling the model whose pictures I’m showing here today. I’ll say it again: It was stolen so please report if you see it being sold on the web.

*UPDATE: This is a post which still sees a lot of traffic on the blog and which I failed miserably to update when it was due. Better late than never I guess. I’m glad to inform that the Land Raider “Ares” has been found. It has been mysteriously delivered at the reception desk of the building where its painter lives.
