Hello Reader!

I’ve published a few articles here on the blog authored by friends of mine, who either ask to have their stuff published here or who are invited by me to share their thoughts on the blog.

I’ve recently done so with the “A Tale of X Gamers” articles, and also with the Warmachine starter box review.

Today’s post here is another guest article, this time authored by one of the good friends I’ve made in this hobby, even if we’ve only met in person once. He’s the guy who ultimately made it possible for me to get into the wargaming hobby, and especially into Warhammer 40.000: Joao Marcelo, or JM as he’s often called.

Without further ado, here’s his review of the Maki Games scenery pieces.

Hello Reader.

Yes, I know… let me save some face and skip the apologies for not updating recently and get straight into today’s post, which for you English speaking Reader is, unfortunately, another apology.

So let me get that out of the way: I apologize in advance for making today’s video content only available in the languages it was recorded in (Portuguese and Spanish) but the video was not only very long (meaning a lot of extra time to work the subtitles in it) but also because my grasp on the Spanish language isn’t great, certainly not nearly good enough for me to translate accurately what was being said by our “maestro”.

Hello!

We’re here with my last article for the “A tale of X Gamers” series created by the “The Painting Frog” blog.

We get now to the end of this journey which has been unfolding for more than a year, during which I collected and painted these figures for the Warhammer 40.000 game. On this last step of the road I have completed the painting process of 36 Termagaunts which I needed in order to properly field the Tervigon without making use of proxies.

Hello.

Vitor here from the “Vamos Ver no Pano Verde” blog with another article for the “A Tale of X Gamers” (AToXG) project.

This is my one of my final articles about how to collect a 1500 point army for the Warhammer 40.000 game. As I write this article we’re now nearing the end of my participation on this project, but not the end of my Tyranid collection which I think will only grow from now on.

Hello folks!

Finally, we get to the last article in this series! I admit I am a little late, but that’s not without reason. My studies, mostly, demanded a great share of my time and I couldn’t leave this aside. When the texts and seminars were done, I could get back to the hobby.

The last unit added to the army is another Tactical Squad, with a lascannon and a graviton gun as special weapons, and with a plasma pistol for the sergeant. The unit was build around the marines from the Assault on Black Reach boxed set, with the lascannon being a leftover from the Devastators box and the graviton gun a bit purchased in separate, as were the parts I needed for the rest of the unit, such as the legs.

Hello!

Well guys I’m back to my Tau Army. They’ve been on hold for a couple of months now and I blame that on “adult life”, being too lazy to work on them and my disappointment with 40K, however, the new edition and the experimentation with some new lists brought me some victories and with those an injection of renewed encouragement.

So we’ll begin with my Tau commander. It is a Forge World models (I forgot exactly which one), that is really imposing and while painting it I wanted to steer away from the yellow, as I wanted him to stand out on the battlefield. I didn’t take a picture of it with his accompanying drones, but they share the same red/white color scheme. The base uses my idea of an invasion being conducted on a desert world whith some crystal deposits sprouting (they’re used as fuel for vehicles and guns). Showtime!

Hello.

We’re getting to the end of our participation on the “A tale of X Gamers” project here on the “The Painting Frog” blog. This time I decided to paint a bunch of miniatures at the same time as their color scheme is the same.

I’ve initially painted the Deathleaper and the Zoanthropes along with the Tervigon. After a while I painted the two Carnifexes and added the five Genestealers to the production line.

Hello!

I’m back after a long time off, to continue our “AToXG” project.

The reason it took me so long to write again was because I had been working on my Eldar finishing them and also painting the terrain that were used on CGW’s “Summer Tournament”, but I also had real life charging its price on the hobby.

Hey folks!

The end of the “A Tale of X Gamers” project is approaching, at least for me! This month, my chosen unit was one of Terminators. I chose an assault configuration for two reasons, first because I didn’t have a unit like this yet, and also because some old fashioned hard hitting can be fun. I imagine a futuristic scene full of technology and firearms, and suddenly a highly protected enemy armour is opened by brutal hammer blows.

I also chose the Terminators because of their ability to enter the game by teleporting in, being deployed behind enemy lines and causing a lot of destruction. And in games where Deep Strike is forbidden, they count with enough protection to withstand the most part of enemy fire unharmed until they get where they’re needed. I used the thunderhammer and stormshield option because I intend to use them to bring down both characters and vehicles.

Hello folks!

We’re almost at the end of the challenge. In my last article, I mentioned some changes that some units had to undergo after the release of the actual Codex Space Marines. This month was dedicated for one of them: The Devastator Squad.

The Box of Devastators was bought some time ago, for the first article of this series. In this box there’s only a single missile launcher, so I needed 3 more in order to complete the squad as I wanted to field it. It wasn’t hard to get the bits for the rest of the unit as each Tactical Squad box also has a missile launcher, and since I already had two of those boxes, I got two more missile launchers from them. The last one I got from the Space Marines set from the old box of the Battle for Macragge, for about US$10,00. It is also from this set that I got the other 5 Space Marines I needed to complete the squad making it a 10 man unit. So, this month’s total cost was only US$10,00.
