Following up with our battle reports here on the blog I bring you today one of the  last battles I got to play in March/2017, this time a combat between André Mancini’s Dark Angels and my Space Wolves. The Rumble in the Jungle event was born from an idea that always seemed rather far fetched to me: organizing a wargaming tournament where I lived.

 

Today, after the most recent edition of the “Rumble in the Jungle” the idea might not sound so out of place, but back then when it first occured to me it was difficult to believe that anyone would come to Cuiabá (the capital city  of the State of Mato Grosso, pretty far from the main city centers in Brazil) to play a wargaming event, especially twice. I couldn’t be happier to be proved wrong

Today’s article is just to finally, and properly, announce we are having another “Rumble in the Jungle” this year.

 

“Rumble in the Jungle II – The Mission” is happening on the 23rd and 24th of July, 2016, and will be held in the city of Cuiabá/MT in Brazil, gathering participants in two days of unrestrained gaming and fun.

According to the bets being placed this article should see the light of day sometime around 2017, but in order to contradict the naysayers I’m publishing it today, little over a month after the Rumble in the Jungle was held. I do like to contradict prognostics.

I know it’s been a while since my last update but that doesn’t mean I have been idle. Quite on the contrary, I’ve been producing a lot in the hobby front, and that’s exactly why I have decided to surf the inspiration wave while it lasts to produce as much content as I can.

 

So fret not, new articles, reviews and showcases are coming.

 

For the time being I’d like to share with you something that’s been in the oven for a good while now, but that I found the time to work on while working on another video.

A tale of “X” Gamers – Space Marines 012.

Finally, we get to the last article in this series! I admit I am a little late, but that’s not without reason. My studies, mostly, demanded a great share of my time and I couldn’t leave this aside. When the texts and seminars were done, I could get back to the hobby.

 

The last unit added to the army is another Tactical Squad, with a lascannon and a graviton gun as special weapons, and with a plasma pistol for the sergeant. The unit was build around the marines from the Assault on Black Reach boxed set, with the lascannon being a leftover from the Devastators box and the graviton gun a bit purchased in separate, as were the parts I needed for the rest of the unit, such as the legs.

A tale of “X” Gamers – Space Marines 011.

The end of the “A Tale of X Gamers” project is approaching, at least for me! This month, my chosen unit was one of Terminators. I chose an assault configuration for two reasons, first because I didn’t have a unit like this yet, and also because some old fashioned hard hitting can be fun. I imagine a futuristic scene full of technology and firearms, and suddenly a highly protected enemy armour is opened by brutal hammer blows.

 

I also chose the Terminators because of their ability to enter the game by teleporting in, being deployed behind enemy lines and causing a lot of destruction. And in games where Deep Strike is forbidden, they count with enough protection to withstand the most part of enemy fire unharmed until they get where they’re needed. I used the thunderhammer and stormshield option because I intend to use them to bring down both characters and vehicles.
